"I hated this movie. I wanted to drop it 10 minutes in, but it's in Italy, so I figured worst case I watch it for the scenery, and that actually became the case. I disliked most of the characters, especially the FL, she was really annoying and her actions felt very contradictory to the personality they painted her to have. The acting was pretty bad, it felt like a low budget film instead of a Netflix original. I don't have anything positive to say about this, it's easily on my list of worst movies I've ever seen. All that said, I haven't read the book (and normally wouldn't after watching the movie), but heard it's a lot better and nothing like the movie, so I'll give it a shot anyway."
"2/10 what the cinnamon toast frick was that? I am revolted and my day is ruined. I absolutely adored the book and whoever wrote this movie must have just read the goodreads summary of the plot because this was atrocious. The only thing that I liked were some of the landscape shots of Italy, which is hard to mess up because Italy is gorgeous."
"So to start off I thought Lina was very cringey at first and just straight up awkward and that was making me dislike her, but in the end she ended up getting my respect with her choice on what she knew was best for her. I found myself rooting for Ales but then after a bit he just got annoying and then Lorenzo I didn’t like him at first but towards the end he got on my good side. Overall the movie’s way of ending won me over so it is worth a watch. "

"Let me start off by saying I REALLY wanted to like this movie. I just finished the novel, and I couldn’t wait to see the story pan out on the screen. However, I was pretty disappointed in how the film portrayed the book (and I hate the book snobs that always say that). This film was barely even a skeleton of the story written on the page. Characters were changed, the setting is completely different, the journal was not even remotely similar…even the message behind the book wasn’t portrayed in the film. I will say that the acting was done well and the scenery was beautiful. I tried to separate the book and film as two separate entities, but I just can’t get over how the whole storyline was put through the shredder."
