"A family tradition in my house! I think it's so wonderful when you can perfectly connect with a film and it can produce so many wonderful memories and feels. I love Christmas Vacation so much that I can't pretend to talk about it in a logical way. I have seen it so many times I can basically recite it and I watch the film with a non-stop rotation of grinning and laughter. Mele Kalikimaka!"
"I love/hate this movie, I like it in a way that it’s like an annoy friend that I only see one day of the year. I can’t stand the everything goes wrong comedies it stresses me out but also annoys me to no end! I’m not sure..I guess they give me Anxiety..but this one just so happens to be a Tolerable one and my family loves it so I just have a soft spot for it that way. Also unlike most this one dose have some laughs and I like the Christmas setting they did that very very well."

"I might anger people with this, but having not seen it as a kid and only seen it as an adult, it is absolute madness and mostly cringes.
Basically, the entire movie is a series of clips of what could go wrong situations in very normal situations. You think I'm joking, but you can clearly see cuts, and the story is really just what happened over this month long movie. It's moments of what you can encounter dueing christmas then whatever they can do to make you laugh. Or try to. But it's not funny, it's stupid. It truly fits the time period it came out in, but I can't stand the test of time. And it wasn't just me. Some friends and I put it on, and they weren't happy with it either.
Plus, they really, really, try to make him seem like an amazing family man while stuffing his fantasies of other women and more before supposedly heartfelt moments. Not to mention, there are even moments when the kids are exposed to some of it and I'm just kind of done. The family itself, you just end up hating, there are some cute very short lines that make you like the characters but the family sucks and you just get tired of them. (I get that's how some families are but the inconsideration and more just made me frustrated watching it)
It is very realistic I will give it that. Excluding some moments that were clearly played up for suspense and comedic effect. Including being locked up in an attic that makes zero sense. Especially after breaking the attic and making a hole he clearly could've gone through. "
