"This romantic comedy began the first of a few movies seeing the easy on-screen chemistry between Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. The story is simple, and toyed with the use of online dating, which was still relatively new. Tom Hanks' on screen son decides his father should begin dating again. The story is cute, not overly so, and even though the plot may seem too dated for some, I think this movie still has a charm to it. I know Tom Hanks' career has only continued to soar, but I sometimes wish he would go back to basics and act in another simple romantic comedy once in a while."
