He thought it was shite & FECKING boring, too slow, a downer, & he thought the people were “stukes & skitters” because they didn’t appreciate the beauty of the island — I agree with him on that point, & I wanna go drink in that pub!🍻 But I really liked this 🙌🏽 It’s #darkcomedy just the way I like & appreciate. There’s no way Colm would be walking around with his missing bloody fingers un-bandaged🩸…that’s just some of the #dark_humor 🎻 And the fighting on the mainland is #symbolic — the characters are analogs for the Irish civil war. I say check it out & judge for yourself! If nothing else, you will L❤️VE the #cinematography & might appreciate the beautiful terrain & the look & feel of this #Period_Piece which takes place in 1923 #Ireland 🇮🇪 "

"Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson are back together again. The reason I wanted to watch this movie is because I enjoyed these two when they starred in "In Bruges". I guess I was a little disappointed, because this movie is nothing like that. That's not to say this movie isn't good, because it is good. It's just a different pace and flavor. As dark comedies go, this is a bit of a slower pace but that is part of its charm. I give it a solid 7.5/10"
