"This was great! I find it fascinating how authors can just take you through such great stories in such few pages. We’re back at Singing Hills with Cleric Chih and new adventures. This story emphasizes how history and story telling have a way of changing the truth. I wish we’d learn just a little bit more of the scholar and her tiger wife, what made them pillars in the eyes of the tiger sisters to be revered. I wanted more of why these tiger sisters happened to just be in this area? Which I guess is the overall goal for Nghi Vo, I’m hooked. Happy reading!"

"I liked this book even better than the first one. Cleric Chih is waylaid by shapeshifting tigers while travelling and tells them a story to try and keep themself alive. The writing is beautiful and imaginative, the world-building is great and I loved the dark humour. The way the story differed depending on who was telling it was a factor I really enjoyed."
