A classic fairy tale gets a sexy, edgy twist. Jackson "The Beast" Boudreaux is rich, gorgeous, and unbelievably rude to the staff at Chef Bianca Hardwick's New Orleans restaurant. Bianca would sooner douse herself in hot sauce than cook for Jackson again, but when he asks her to cater his fund-raiser, Bianca can't refuse, knowing the cash will help pay her mother's medical bills. Then Jackson makes another outrageous request: Marry me. The unconventional offer includes an enormous sum--money Bianca desperately needs, even if it does come with a contract--and a stunning ring. The heir to a family bourbon dynasty, Jackson knows the rumors swirling around him. The truth is even darker. Still, he needs a wife to secure his inheritance, and free-spirited, sassy Bianca would play the part beautifully. Soon, though, their simple business deal evolves into an emotional intimacy he's built walls to avoid. As the passion heats up between them, Bianca and Jackson struggle to define which feelings are real and which are for show. Is falling for your fake fiancé the best happy ending...or a recipe for disaster?

"<strong>Beauty and the Beast-ish</strong><br/><br/>I absolutely love beauty and the beast type books. This book had that same type of theme but vaguely. The main character was grumpy and mean but had a good heart. The story was missing something for me, I don’t know what it is but it was missing something. I like the book enough though that I immediate downloaded the next in the series."

"Ok so this was pitched to me as a “modern retelling” of beauty and the beast. Outside of the fact that Bianca consistently refers to Jackson as “The Beast,” the comparison is incredibly scant. I did quite like it because fake relationships are great but I was kind of put off by the consistent over usage of curse words (I know, I know, but I’m a classy broad lol) and some things I just couldn’t suspend disbelief for…like a sixty-four year old woman being familiar with tropes. Come on!<br/><br/>Also quite frankly I didn’t really feel the chemistry between our main characters. It was feeling very forced."
"Read it in one weekend and I really enjoyed it. I quote, it a great “slap, slap, kiss” story line kinda book. Not as heated as I expected but still pretty hot. Great light romance book. It also brought tear to my eyes so overall: 4/5 stars. #romcom #hatetolove "
