From New York Times bestselling author Karin Slaughter, the first novel in her acclaimed Grant County Series.A small Georgia town erupts in panic when a young college professor is found brutally mutilated in the local diner. But it’s only when town pediatrician and coroner Sara Linton does the autopsy that the full extent of the killer’s twisted work becomes clear.Sara’s ex-husband, police chief Jeffrey Tolliver, leads the investigation—a trail of terror that grows increasingly macabre when another local woman is found crucified a few days later. But he’s got more than a sadistic serial killer on his hands, because the county’s only female detective, Lena Adams—the first victim’s sister—wants to serve her own justice. But it is Sara who holds the key to finding the killer. A secret from her past could unmask the brilliantly malevolent psychopath… or mean her death.

"Blindsided by Karin Slaughter is a tense, well-crafted thriller that grips you from the start. The story follows medical examiner Sara Linton and detective Lena, who team up to investigate the murder of a young woman. Slaughter’s writing is sharp, and she skillfully blends mystery with emotional depth, particularly in her exploration of trauma and personal relationships. The pacing is fast, and the twists keep the story unpredictable. While the characters are complex and engaging, the dark themes can be a bit heavy at times. Still, the book’s suspense and character development make it a compelling read, and it sets up the Grant County series for even more intrigue. 4 stars."
"good read, but I was able to guess who the killer was too early on."

"It was so good! I hated the ending as Sara gave Jeffrey a chance due to the fact that there relationship was kinda toxic. I have a hate/love for Lena's charcter as well. Also not gonna lie I got emotional 3 times, teared up once, and cried once. I added kiss cut to my tbr, hopefully It will be just as good as this book. The graphic scenes and detail were also incredible as I was able to picture them in my head! I can't wait to start reading pretty girls as well heard it's a good book...🌟"
