Winslow Covington believes in life, liberty and the letter of the law. As Quincy, Montana’s new chief of police, she’s determined to prove herself to the community and show them she didn’t earn her position because her grandfather is the mayor. According to her pops, all she has to do is earn favor with the Edens. But winning over the town’s founding family might have been easier if not for her one-night stand with their oldest son. In her defense, it was her first night in town and she didn’t realize that the rugged and charming man who wooed her into bed was Quincy royalty. Sleeping with Griffin Eden was a huge mistake, one she’s trying to forget. He’s insufferable, arrogant and keeps reminding everyone that she’s an outsider. Winslow does her best to avoid Griffin, but when a woman is found dead on Eden property, the two of them have no choice but to cross paths. As clues to the murderer lead to one of Quincy’s own, Griffin realizes Winslow is more than he gave her credit for. Beautiful and intelligent, she proves hard to resist. For him. And the killer.

"4.5/5 ⭐️ dual pov and available on KU. It was so good. I’m excited to read the rest of the series. Love the small town romance and that Winn is a badass. Also really liked the pacing and the plot aside from the romance. Also really liked the relationship and how it progressed. I loved the found family elements. It sort of left me wanting more out of the story which sometimes happens to me in the first book in a series. I am excited to read the rest of the series!! Also a really quick read. Lots of implied sex but barely any on page! 0.5-1/5 spice level. "

"I went into this one blind and I’m glad a did because I was pleasantly surprised. Very good/original plot but I already figured out the conclusion of the plot twist early on so that part was underwhelming. Definitely continuing the series."

"Good! I liked the one night stand to awkward encounter to sliding into a relationship. Didn't feel forced and flowed really well. "

"I'm on the fence with this one. I loved the first 6 chapters, the concept of the book and the small town Montana setting but a little before halfway through it really fizzled out to me. It didn't fully commit to the murder mystery side of the story and felt like an after thought. I also wasn't convinced of Griffin and Winn as a couple. The beginning was great, the end was decent but the middle was meh. "
