"4.5⭐
This book was amazing!! The plot twists, the mystery, the riddles, the romance, it was all absolutely perfection! I loved the first three books, so I was ecstatic when I found out there would be a fourth, and it did not disappoint! I really loved getting to see things from Grayson's and Jameson's povs and I can hardly wait for the next book!"
"<strong>Gotta love the Hawthorne brothers.</strong>
An excellent continuation of the Inheritance series. This book focuses on brothers Grayson and Jamison. Grayson steps into the lives of his half sisters. He has two goals, keep them from finding out what really happened to their father and remain unattached. Jamison, with Avery by his side, infiltrates a secret club. His father has given him a challenge - get invited to the annual game and win back the family estate. I wish I'd reread the first three books before reading this one. I was fuzzy on mush of the history between Grayson, his father, and Avery. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series."
"This book took me some time to get in to. It’s a much different pace to the rest of the series. Avery’s story pretty much wraps in The Final Gambit and this book follows Jameson and Grayson in the aftermath. The dual POV felt choppy and confusing for me at times as Jameson and Grayson are dealing with separate issues in separate locations. Jameson has Avery to lean on and I appreciated how their love and support for each other continue to get stronger. Grayson has the help of his other brothers as he navigates the intricacies of his newly found family. The last 35% saved it for me. I really got into it closer to the end as it picked up the pace and surprises were revealed."
"This book was amazing! Since it's the fourth one, I was able to instantly fall into the world of The Hawthorne's, and get lost in their adventures. I loved that it was told from Jameson and Grayson's perspective, and I LOVED Avery and Jameson together more. Heiress forever! Once again the plot twists and connections to the prior books were outstanding. My favorite reference was to the glass ballerina in Avery and Jameson's game. I will always ship Nash and Libby. Xander is still the perfect comic relief, and I love how Jennifer Lynn Barnes brought everything together. All the flashbacks work so well with the overall story, and this is how I wish to write someday! "
