The ManipulatorI can manipulate the emotions of anyone who lets me.I will make you hurt, make you cry, make you laugh and sigh. But my words don't affect him.Especially not when I plead for him to leave. He's always there, watching and waiting. And I can never look away. Not when I want him to come closer. The StalkerI didn't mean to fall in love. But now that I have, I can't stay away.I'm mesmerized by her smile, by her eyes, and the way she moves. The way she undresses...I'll keep watching and waiting.Until I can make her mine. And once she is, I'll never let her go.Not even when she begs me to.

"Complete honesty, I really did like this book! I thought the plot was good and Zade…. 🤤. It just was some of the **** scenes… I guess I’m not into dark romance like I thought! The first one with the gun I was just like… EW. That’s the only reason I have it as a three star! Also with all the TW and everyone saying to read the triggers I guess I just expected… something different idk. Zade’s devotion though.. speaks enough for itself"
"I cannot judge the book too hard about the stalker premise because going in I knew it would involve that. What I didn’t expect was my complete dislike of most characters. It’s rare for me to shelf a book as dnf and so despite my aversion to the plot, I kept going. I was curious about why this book got so much hype and I don’t think I’ve read a dark romance book. Safe to say I won’t be making that mistake anytime soon. “For the first time, this moment with Zade feels consensual. And I’m not sure if I want that.”Page 379. This line sums up the whole thing. I wanted to empathize for the MC, even if I didn’t like her but I realized pretty early on she’s as crazy as the male lead. They’re a match made in hell. The background plot with Gigi was the only thing I was interested in but then I figured out who did it pretty early on so that was a bummer too. And although the cliffhanger ending is supposed to entice me into grabbing the next book, I’m perfectly content if both main characters end up dying tbh 🤷♀️😂✌️"
"** SPOILERS ** I probably passed this book time after time in Barnes & Noble…and oh how I was missing this and I hadn’t even known. This has the cat and mouse, the mysterious man, the good girl who doesn’t disobey anyone, the eerie mansion…ALL OF THE PERFECT WRITING ELEMENTS. And it had me WEAK. Zade was a simple man needing his salvation, a home, and he came across the woman who gave him it all. This book had you despising Zade for stalking and then anticipating seeing him again, WANTING him to see Addie again. It was odd finding comfort in the darkness with the both of them, but maybe that’s what this book was mainly about. Finding perfects within the shadows. I’ve heard a lot of inputs about this, mainly concerning the gun scene, the spice scenes, etc. It is definitely not for the weak, but if you want spice and to fall for the guy you shouldn’t, THIS is the book. The cliffhanger at the end had me rolling, kicking, and almost throwing my phone (since I sadly read it in ebook) I finished this book within less than 48 hours, and the second I have been reading for 24 hours currently and I’m over halfway (if that says anything lol)"
"I do understand the twistiness of dark romance but I think this isn’t for me. First of all, I think the writing is repetitive, yes, like we already got it, move on and get straight to the point. Second, during the dialogue, there was unnecessary explanation of the past, no wonder the story was long. Third, I wish the author explained every thing earlier instead of just explain right when the scenes happened. Like I need context so I understand and it actually make sense the character would do that. There’s many thing from Satan’s affair in this so I think you should read that first before heading to Haunting Adeline. Now to the good part, why do I like it. It’s dark romance! Every dark romance is good to me. H.D. Carlton was able to make me feel the thrill in the sm🌶️t scenes. I love the characters. "
