"I heard the audiobook and there were plenty of steamy scenes (just a warning), but the description got me interested because of the bodyguard romance (made me think of “The First Daughter” or “The Bodyguard” with Whitney Houston like those types of films), but nonetheless good ending the story wasn’t bad, but i’m not interested in continuing the other books in the series. "*WARNING THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS* This started out as being a 3 star book for me, but things changed lol. Specifically having the 8 or so last chapters redeeming it. Knowing from book 1, this was a bodyguard and princess romance I knew it had to be good. But it honestly wasn't interesting me at first. It was like a slow burn romance and I don't think I've read a book like that so it was new to me, but I know I didn't like it. There wasn't a lot of banter either and I love that! Some things were funny and cute, but I needed more than the grumpy bodyguard who shields everyone away. But when they did get together "officially" I loved it, the tension of being reckless and sneaking around helped with my rating lol. I seriously don't like how Ana repeats certain phrases in very similar scenes. Like I get it, the chair, desk, drawer moved when a certain something was happening😏. It doesn't need to be said all the time though. Along with other phrases too. I think Alex and ava are going to be my favorite couple, out of all these books. The "plot twists" between Rhys's brother and father, who leaked the video and photos were not surprising and I saw them a mile away. But the whole reporter intruder thing, I didn't see lol. I did enjoy the friends coming to visit along with Alex of course. The romance did turn up a level or two so I'm wondering how much it "improved" in the next 2 books. I guess there's only 1 way to find out. On to the next! "
"* NO spoilers* Again…if you don’t like spicy books, this series is not for you. HOWEVER, I went into this book annoyed within the first couple chapters. I had been so whipped by Alex and Ava’s story in the first book I was left wanting more (but this didn’t disappoint). I hadn’t ever been a big fan of books having to do with royalty (I don’t know why it just makes me cringe) but this book kind of changed my mind (BARELY. I still cringed a tad by “Queen” “Princess” and “Your Highness”) I wasn’t expecting Rhys’s character in this, but I LOVE the chemistry within all the characters! I love how her characters in the books are always opposites that bring out the best in each other. (Even though I still want more Ava and Alex smh) Bridget was just so bubbly and Rhys brought out even more of her genuine side which I just completely adored. I’m a sucker for stories about opposites attracting each other though. All in all, I loved this series if you like books like Colleen Hoovers romances. "
"This series is too good!!! *SPOILLLER**
Princess falling in love with bodyguard trope was so spicy! I think my favorite part was their small meeting 9pm on the chairs and him asking “ask me again.” The only reason it’s a 4/5 is because his alpha male was “too much” I’m not a fan of the whole “you’re my *****” stuff lol. But I’m enjoying these series! "
