"I'm reading the series a little differently than intended and started with this prequel/novella collection. I'm already super invested in the main character. The last novella was gut-wrenchingly devastating. Probably hits a little differently reading it this way rather than already knowing what happens after this. I also liked that the each story interconnected and that they aren't necessarily stand-alone."
"Unpopular opinion: Wasn’t that riveting…
Lemme explain… Coming down from the ACOTAR hangover and wanted to jump into the next series thinking it was going to be the same energy…
Friends, this is a PG series and a prequel to the TOG series.
But there is light at the end of the tunnel! Last 30 pages gets good and then you get suckered into the next booked.
Well played Maas, well played. "
"This books didn’t tell me anything new that I already didn’t know but honestly it made me so MAD. I LOVE SAM. I liked all the back story to all the stories Aelin had talked about but I was still so PRESSED AT THE END. First of all.. **** AROBYNN. He’s a creep PERIOD. Maybe father figure maybe lover? DUDE YOU’re LIKE 20 YEARS OLDER THAN HER ICK. I have no words Sam did not deserve that I am so hurt"
"It feels a little like a waste of time when you read it in the middle of the series; like a flashback episode that only serves to make viewers wait that much longer for the finale they desire. I guess reading it at the start would've been a better choice. Definitely don't read it at the end. "
