Topic: It's a Wonderful Life
It's time for the #fantasylandmovieclub to discuss the Best Picture nominee, It's a Wonderful Life! What did you think of this movie? I've heard some say that George Bailey was more a victim than a hero. What do you think of that interpretation? Would Clarence's exercise have convinced you to continue your life? Why is the title "It's a Wonderful Life?" What change to George's life was the most jarring to you as a viewer? Was it weird for you watching this movie in March?

Karl Roman Great movie. Capra loves the idea of America and preaches that the everyman in all of us is basically good. I love all his movies, and I fear too few of the current and future generations will see them. Yeah, George got a bum deal and he's obviously a victim. Also, yes Claence would have convinced me. It's a wonderful life, because Capra believes even an ordinary life is a wonderful one, especially in a democracy without bombs falling. He was a famous war correspondent.

Karl Roman Capra is a great argument for immigration. If you don't mind, I'd like to plug two more of his films. "You Can't Take It with You", and , "Meet John Doe". Some people think the're corny, but I think they provide positive role models, solid values, and are great films for the whole family to enjoy..

Juliet Shalu Castillo I ❤️❤️❤️❤️this movie. Fortunately, my mom had amazing taste in movies and she introduced me to this one at a young age. She had a knack for knowing what I needed and her commentary was priceless. Needless to say, this film is a staple for our Christmases. It had evolved into a treat for my husband and I to have it on as we wrap gifts for our kids late at night. Originally thought of a “Capra Corn,” I feel that it’s charms exceeds all of that. Given that I pretty much know the whole script, it’

Juliet Shalu Castillo is amazing how much sentiment that movie still brings me. From the moment where Old Man Gower, realizes what he has done and George’s faithful response to Bert and Ernie’s assistance in making the Granville home enchanted for one night; it makes me dream that there are still places in America 🇺🇸 like Bedford Falls. Not to mention the performances! For instance, Barrymore as Potter is perfection. We really need a live discussion to take this film on appropriately.

Karl Roman My mistake, I was thinking about when he was making films for the army during WWII and confused that with being a correspondent
