"This movie is goofy, gory and Devastating all rolled into one. It’s one of those 80s gems I don’t hear a whole lot about even when I do hear about it’s in small circles I think it should be more popular then it seems to be. It also has one of the coolest looking zombies ever put in a movie with the tar zombie. If you want some good old 80s campy horror put this on it’s a blast. "

"Dan O’Bannon’s semi sequel to “Night of the Living Dead” turns the zombie movie on it’s side. Introducing some interesting fact to the living dead mythology. Brain eating talkative zombies smart enough to set up traps to get “More Brains” This fun little horror/comedy movie is well crafted and fun as all hell. If you enjoyed “Shawn of the Dead” watch the American father of that sublime comedy."
"Spooktober: On the other end of the spectrum my other favorite movie so far this year is Return of the Living Dead. This movie is fun, clever and full of an 80s horror punk rock excess that I had a blast with. Like the thinking feeling zombies thing on it's own is enough of a fresh take to hinge an entire interesting adaptation and they play with that in interesting and creative ways. Return of the Living Dead is packed full of gore, nudity, interesting ideas, and genuinely funny gags. It's peak 80s horror and I loved it."
"Didn't expect this to be as good as it was. Not only does it introduce the fixation of brains as a food source for zombies, it subverts the genre- destroying the brain isn't enough. These are by far the scariest zombies I've seen, in any media. They zombify from the rain or gas, even the long dead. They can walk, run, talk, use tools, open doors, solve problems like moving a ladder or using a winch, and even set traps for humans. Even just pieces. Terrifying. Even nukes wouldn't be enough."
