The story of Rudolf Nureyev, whose escape to the West stunned the world at the height of the Cold War. With his magnetic presence, Nureyev emerged as ballet’s most famous star, a wild and beautiful dancer limited by the world of 1950s Leningrad. His flirtation with Western artists and ideas led him into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse with the KGB.

"I personally had never heard of Rudolf Nureyev until coming across this biopic, but the aftermath of watching this film definitely led me down a YouTube rabbit hole. A good sign that this film was somewhat impactful. The struggle is that while I admire that they used actors true to the region and role, it made acting and line delivery awkward. I also feel like Rudolf's ego sometimes came with no real explanation or background. At times, he was just purely unlikeable."

"Not a big fan of Biopics, but this film caught my full attention throughout. It was wonderful. Definitely recommend if you like the movie, “Billy Elliot”. Mostly because they both have a love for ballet and a sort of small upbringing. 5/5"
