"It’s very saddening really. You see the main character lost his hearing. You also see him make himself lose more. When he gets his hearing back(sort of). At the end of the movie you realize it was all for nothing. He got nothing really back in return. It makes me realize you don’t know what you have until its gone."
"Really good movie! I loved the way certain scenes were silenced or distorted to show you what the main character was/wasn’t hearing. “You hurt yourself, you hurt me” is going to live rent free in my head for the rest of my life. I liked the turn the movie takes at the end, even though it wasn’t what I expected. I wish we had gotten to hear more of the backstories of the rest of the characters at place he stayed at. "
"What a powerful Drama. Riz Ahmed takes this character and embodies it with so much emotion that you feel everything he is going through. The story is so heartbreaking, yet also uplifting. His life is not over, yet is changed dramatically. Teaches you that there can be light at the end of the tunnel, if you're willing to see it."
