"Now, this is a sequel! It truly expands the characters and the world they're in without rehashing the first movie. They expanded on things and made it seem like a true continuation of the original story. My friend who adored the original and watched it all the time as a kid said that this one she liked, it was dumb at times, but she really loved it. Considering how hard-core of a fan she is, I think that speaks volumes.
Now, for those of you who weren't fans of the original, or remember it, you're in luck. I didn't like it and didn't remember it either. However, I watched it with my friends and I enjoyed it. The lines are incredibly predictable. Even though it was my first time watching it, I could say most of the lines before they'd come on, and I didn't even remember most of the first movie. Still, you'll know some lines just because it's very simple in that way. It seems like a rush job of a sequel, yet you still enjoy yourself throughout and find fun little nuggets of laughable moments (pun intended).
The villain seems to have expanded and still maintains her wickedness while also remaining fun to watch. She's one crazy villain, and it's so nice not to have another simple redemption arc story for the villain. Instead, they focused on the characters we truly loved in the first movie and made their story worth watching. You'll scream at the end for the climax since they truly milk the suspense, but other than that, you're gonna have fun.
Side note: The theme song of this movie is way too catchy. At first, I hated it, then I liked it at the credits, now I can't get enough. Beyond good. Plus, it matches the movie well for the moments it plays.
Overall, very well done and for sure worth watching. No matter if you're a fan of the original, know the original, or have never even seen the first movie, you're going to enjoy this insanely adorable movie."
"Definitely not as good as the first one, but it’s still sweet and has its moments."
