"My only knowledge of the book is my 10 year younger sister loved Bloom’s books when she was a kid. This movie, however, is just absolutely fantastic. Goes on every future coming of age list. The preteen actors are blow you away good. It’s funny, it’s sad, it’s super cool. I’m sure the draw of the book is that a lot can see themselves in the story or having similar experiences. I know the parallels to my life are outright unbelievable. For all ages. I wish my daughters were younger so I could watch this with them. Maybe I’ll make ‘em anyway. "

Nothing will beat the good old days and I actually feel bad for todays generation and teens for not having lived through the childhood innocence as it should be. I could relate as Margaret was very close to my age at that time where I had experienced similarly with a very reluctant move, and then having a neighbor girl with a very bubbly personality come visit me at the new place. Oh so very relatable. That scene in the Clark Drug Co. store I was laughing uncontrollably, OMG, just way too funny. I can't recommend this movie enough, best I've seen in a long time. The music from that era was an added plus. Oh, Kathy Bates was hilarious!"
