Transformers One

"This animated action film directed by Josh Cooley about a Hasbro toy from the 1980's and one of my favorite cartoons as a kid was fantastic. The animation and the plot was much better than I expected it to be. Considering this cartoon holds such precious memories for me growing up, I was hesitant to watch it, afraid that my memories might be tainted by an inferior movie, or a film that was too far off from the original. I don't mind saying that I was dead wrong. This movie is a refreshing and very welcome reboot to the transformers universe. The plot revolves around a Cybertron which has become dark in the sense that its spark is gone. The bots are without hope and they seek to find a new leader that can repair and unite Cybertron. The plot is basically an origin story of what eventually became the characters that we know as Optimus prime and make Megatron. The voice acting was great. Chris Hemsworth voices Optimus, Brian Tyree Henry is Megatron, and Keegan Michael key is a surprise as the bot we know as Bumblebee. There are a lot of other famous voices in this one of whom is Laurence Fishburne. I won't give away the bot that he plays. For those families with very young children, some may be disturbed by a few scenes of animated violence. Otherwise, this film will definitely go on my list of fun action films to rewatch."

"A great sci-fi prequel to the Transformers worth watching as the origin of the main characters and the begin of their path’s seen in the Multiverse of Transformers shows and films, though I’d only say this prequel doesn’t connect to the live action film series as you see in the first few minutes and later on in the film!"

"Wasn’t actually planning on watching this. But my cousin again is over. So we saw this in theaters. I really surprisingly enjoyed this quite a lot. The literal only complaint I have is the dialogue at times. Can be very generic. But my main annoyance was the literal he is right behind me type dialogue. Well not exactly that but so much lines that I’ve heard 100s of times already. But it is a kids movie. Not a good excuse but that’s what everyone will say for sure.(plus their were a lot of kids watching it in the theater) The story is actually good.I loved the conflict It caused with two certain characters. I did really enjoy it though. I think it was actually done really well. It was refreshing to see a story not being just saving the world for the 50th time. I actually liked the characters. Especially Megatron I felt like they developed him very well. Bumblebee was a good comedy character I do not like the trend of making a comedy character just that. He was funny at times though not a lot for me personally. But his comedy was a lot different then what I’ve seen. I hope they develop him more in the next. Optimus I did like how Cris didn’t use his normal voice like a certain other Cris. He didn’t really wow me though. I did like seeing a hopeful character though. He wasn’t bad just it’s hard for me to care for just a “nice” character. Elita had her moments but she didn’t have her own personal character moments. I loved how colorful this movie was. Loved the action it was very Chaotic but it did actually show you things enough. Loved how much they actually used the vehicles. Villain is okay. Visually looks cool on my eyes were very pleased. Maybe more than spider-verse in some ways. Had a lot of fun great movie. Great seats as well. Really off topic but been having peeing issues so could have been a more fun time. Basically I literally have to pee a lot nonstop almost. So I just held it in which probably doesn’t help but had to. "

"This movie gave me life this weekend! I loved the voice acting, the storyline, the graphics, and the score. My kids loved it but I couldn't say who liked it more between us. This reminds me of the old transformer cartoon days. I loved that there were no humans which let me focus on the transformers. I like the relationship between Orion and D161. This movie was funny and built tension when needed. I can't wait to rewatch. A++"

"I loved this story. It blended excellent character dynamics and fun action with a great narrative. Some of the humor didn't land for me. The majority of the humor worked and the voice cast did a great job, except for Steve Buscemi as Starscream. However, this is still my third favorite Transformers film."

"The animation was good and the first part of the movie was original and well done, however the second part of the plot seemed rushed and it lost almost its lightheartedness. The plot was good and the subplots were great. The hero to villain plot was great but underdeveloped which left a raw taste for some viewers. And the world building seemed rushed as well. "This deserves like…10000000/5 stars - infinity out of 5 stars! No one could ask for a better origin story for the Transformers! Everything, right from the start with Orion and D’s friendship, to the details of Megatronus’s face being the Decepticon logo, to the gradual transition of D-16 to Megatron due to hatred, to Orion becoming more noble and noble as the story progresses….they outdid themselves! Not only did they pay so much attention to detail, but they made Megatron more understandable. He really demonstrates how powerful a desire for revenge and hatred can be. I CANNOT describe everything that was amazing about this movie in one review, but I can say that it was beyond awesome! It was perfect, literally perfect (I don’t care what anyone else may say). Transformers is so back! Till all are one!! Eagerly awaiting the second addition to this trilogy "
