"🌟7/10🌟 Tetris (2023) on #AppleTV+ delivers a #gripping, #nostalgic story of how the iconic game became a global sensation. Set against the backdrop of the #ColdWar, it follows Henk Rogers, a video game designer-turned-entrepreneur, as he battles through #Soviet bureaucracy and fierce business rivals like Mirrorsoft (run by the infamous British billionaire Robert Maxwell**), Atari, and others to secure the rights that made Tetris a #GameBoy classic! 🙌
The movie blends #historical facts with #drama, showing the high-stakes negotiations, the shady dealings of the Maxwell-run Mirrorsoft, and how Henk Rogers fought to bring the game to the world. 🌎🎮
In the end, Tetris is a #fastpaced, #engaging film that brings this #TrueStory to life with just the right mix of truth and an enthralling Hollywood script. ▪️ **It was extremely satisfying to see the Maxwells finally face the consequences of their manipulative scheming—especially knowing that Robert Maxwell’s youngest daughter, Ghislaine Maxwell, later became infamous for her relationship with Jeffrey Epstein—making it all the MORE satisfying!!😠💥🤛🏽

@Joslyn: Your review cracks me up because it’s SO TRUE! 😂 I read your review before watching, and could totally see Egerton doing his best DiCaprio impression.😆"
"Who knew that the story of a simple, but wildly popular, video game would have more intrigue, secret meetings, double crosses, and high stakes scenarios than an international spy thriller. The story of how Tetris came to the world, whether it's true or not, is an interesting and humorous watch. 7/10"
"Based on real events, Henk Rogers (Taron Egerton) was the opportunist and idealistic businessman who risked everything to bring Tetris to the masses. Joining forces with inventor of the game, Alexey Pajitnov (Nikita Efremov), the pair find themselves in a dark, maze like world that pits communism against capitalism, involving Japan, the United States, the Soviet Union, and the United Kingdom, all fighting for the rights for this soon to be triumphant game
There is so much more to this than meets the eye. I never knew so much went into getting this game established. Rather than a by the numbers biopic about the man who discovered a game that went on to obtain global popularity, what transpires is an incredibly political thriller that pits nations against one another, with Tetris in the middle of it all. By the latter stages, the constant back and forth, contract disputes, and loopholes, do grow a little tedious, but Egerton keeps the story watchable, playing Rogers with a satisfying blend of wide-eyed idealism and a beat-up worn-out demeanor. Credit must also go to director Jon S. Baird who adds some creative touches that carry the film when the narrative wanes. This includes the use of 8-bit graphics from the game and a nostalgic soundtrack reflective of the era. Using Type A the theme song from Tetris as the score was perfect. I remember having Tetris on the computer,my Nintendo, and gameboy. This was the only video game I’ve ever witnessed my father actually play so this did cause me to get a little emotional ❤️ The memory of him sitting there playing my gameboy is forever ingrained in my mind.(RIP Dad) TBH Tetris might be the best game ever invented from a legacy standpoint. I grew up as a gamer having every system because my father never let me miss out. From Nintendo to PS5 I’ve had them all. The film isn’t as perfect as the video game but it will definitely suffice."

"Very well-done movie on the true story of Tetris the video game. Please note as well though, it shouldn't be forgotten by anyone who is a movie watcher, that Robert Maxwell, who was one of the main people is the father of Ghislaine Maxwell, the person who was working with Globalist pedophile Jeffery Epstein. Many media outlets stated her as Epstein's girlfriend, which is actually false."
