"After how much I enjoyed Oddity, I'm glad I decided to try Damian Mc Carthy's debut feature film, Caveat. While I'd say I prefer Oddity overall, Caveat gives it quite the run for its money. Caveat is so creepy, atmospheric, and claustrophobic! I love that once you think you've got things figured out it surprises the heck out of you. I do wish we got a bit more of certain elements (and if it went on just a bit more past that ending), but otherwise that's my only complaint. I might never go down in my basement ever again. The real question: why did I decide to watch this before bedtime? And, when can we expect to see more from Damian Mc Carthy?"
"it’s so creeeeeepy! i kept gasping"

"My first Damian McCarthy film and I couldn’t be more impressed. This is a very subtle and small movie compared to similar ones in the genre but it stays with you afterwards. Some of the props such as a skinned drummer rabbit that hits its drums when it comes close to the paranormal or danger has become iconic to me. What I love most about this movie is that it takes its time and lets the tension build and build until finally at the climax you’ll be on the edge of your seat with anticipation. There’s one scene near the end of the movie that has become an all time classic and I love hearing others gasp when they watch it for the first time. It’s that memorable and effective. McCarthy is quite the confident filmmaker with a style and vision uniquely his own and for that I can’t wait to see his follow up film Oddity but in the meantime if you’re looking to throw on a well done mystery/horror film this one’s for you.
