"Still good, but in a different direction from Shrek 1. Less corporate mocking (as dreamworks was on sturdier financial ground in their cgi dept), but greater emotional stakes. We can see some of the filler moments starting to peek around the corner of the plot, but it wasn’t til shrek 3 that we actually noticed."
