"I know that I absolutely reviewed this before due to my love of it and Bob Hoskins. But, I highly recommend this to anyone who loves early cinema and animation. It's a combination of both in a modern (80's) way. It was amazing then and it holds up. I saw this in the theater when it premiered and I was in love. Recommended. "
"A moderately fun watch."

"It doesn't seem like a film noir parody geared toward children (but also kinda not geared toward children) set in a world where classic cartoon characters are real would work as well or have the lasting impact that Who Framed Roger Rabbit? has had. It's really quite good, though. It's funny, especially for those who are familiar with the references to classic animation being made. It's also dark and gritty, but not oppressively so. The brightness of the cartoon characters, backgrounds, and props contrasts with noir LA to create a final product that feels very much in the middle but never bland, always being at one extreme or the other. Because traditional animation styles were used for the cartoon characters before they were added to the film, their addition was seamless and those effects are probably evergreen. The final twist at the end wraps everything up very neatly in a satisfying way, except in that it might be a little too neat. "
