By 2017, the global economy has collapsed and U.S. society has become a totalitarian police state, censoring all cultural activity. The government pacifies the populace by broadcasting a number of game shows in which convicted criminals fight for their lives, including the gladiator-style The Running Man, hosted by the ruthless Damon Killian, where “runners” attempt to evade “stalkers” and certain death for a chance to be pardoned and set free.

"Based of a Stephen King book of the same name, a man escapes from prison only to end up on a literal survival game show where contestants are chased while they try to reach the goal and live. Worth watching as the main character and his friends travel through the desolate landscape of the game show!"

" ⭐️⭐️1/2 not Ahnold’s best but somehow he managed to be in the most prophetic movies. I know this is based on a Stephen King book so SK probably deserves the credit, but there was no such thing as reality shows when this movie came out and certainly nothing of the survivalist variety. This is over the top but not that far off to where we are now. "
