First time father Henry Spencer tries to survive his industrial environment, his angry girlfriend, and the unbearable screams of his newly born mutant child. David Lynch arrived on the scene in 1977, almost like a mystical UFO gracing the landscape of LA with its enigmatic radiance. His inaugural work, "Eraserhead" (1977), stood out as a cinematic anomaly, painting a surreal narrative of a young man navigating a dystopian, industrialized America, grappling not only with his tumultuous home life but also contending with an irate girlfriend and a mutant child.

"This is definitely an art house thriller. Everything about this film is especially tailored to make the viewer feel uncomfortable: a forced marriage, darkly lit sets, loud ambient sounds, stilted dialogue, and a crying "baby." I am unsure what the Director was trying to portray with this film, but he sure tried hard to do it. The film simply cannot be described, and is therefore very memorable.🥺"
"Eraserhead for me is an amazing and nightmare fueled look at the fears of being a father and unwanted pregnancy. This movie is full anxiety and discomfort that drives home the loss freedom some might feel with having a child to look after and the madness that can come with it. It’s strange, odd and dark."
"Slow body horror..."
