"Whew this movie is intense! The entire time I watched the subtitles kept saying “ominous ambience” and honestly, that really just describes the vibe of the entire film. This movie really makes you think. What really makes someone alive? What makes an AI sentient? It’s very thought provoking. I always love Oscar Isaac but damn his character Nathan SUCKED as a person. I full body cringed when it was revealed (SPOILER ALERT) that Kyoko was another AI and that he kept the corpses (can you call them corpses???) of the other prototypes by his bed! Like serious serial killer crap. I loved Caleb (as I love Domhnall Gleeson) and honestly, his calls after Ava broke my heart. I can’t find it in me to hate Ava for what she did though. She wanted to survive and free herself, and she did what she thought she had to. It scares me but I respect it. 🫡 "
"As much as I like this movie it’s one you can watch just a couple of times to get the full narrative and that’s all you need. I do like how it talks about the abuse of power that tech companies and people have now a days. I like the Discussion about how far we should actually take Robotics and where the line should be drawn but you also understand where Ava is coming from being out here just to be caged."
"Caleb, an advanced coder, is invited by famous tech builder Nathan to help test his latest AI robot Ava. The situation become dark when Ava begins to ask Caleb to help ex scape. Caleb must decipher between reality or machine. I thought this movie would get much weirder than it did thank goodness, with a little mind play led to a great twist!"
"This film is a sci-fi thriller masterpiece. A film that kept me thinking the whole time, and just when I thought I had it, it kept on shifting and twisting. A thinker for sure, and a beautiful thinker at that. The backgrounds are pretty, the girls are too. The acting is awesome. Especially with Nathan (Of course,it's Oscar Isaac) and with AVA is impressive too. That whole feeling of tense and guessing…it’s just a great movie. Heavily recommend."
