McKenzie BahrYou have to give this book a chance past the first few pages. It might seem like complete brain-rot at first, but it’s actually extremely clever and thought provoking. The writing style is indicative of the characters’ disturbingly shallow thoughts and not an indication of bad writing. It is scary how much this book reminds me of the present day.
McKenzie BahrThis is a very inspiring and heart wrenching story. While historical detail can be interesting, I just did not need to know how Mary spent each day in the wilderness. It began to drag on after about 100 pages of no major plot points…just what she ate and that she walked farther. If you can get past the monotony of her time in the wilderness, it is worth the read.
McKenzie BahrThis book was amazing! There were so many details not included in the movie. Prince Humperdinck is way cooler and scarier in this version.
McKenzie BahrBeautiful story set in such a dark time period. This forbidden love story is compelling and gorgeously written.
