caleigh_knight shared a tip "It's a classic for a reason. Tohru is innocent and adorable. Her interacting and meeting every Sohma member is pure and innocent. You find yourself inthralled by the magic and the developing relationships. I tend to despise realistic fiction and even though it has a Supernatural like element to it, I love this. It helped open the door for anime to me. It's one that has clearly stuck with people and now inspired a sequel more true to the manga. Having read the manga and enjoyed its outcome I'm thrilled by the idea of it. Even though it is lighthearted it also hits some dark twists that tug at your heartstrings and can move you to tears if you're not ready. I highly recommend"

If you like a more modern art style go with the new one, but if you're okay with the older comical style I'd say watch the older version because the expressions and things just make jokes come through easier. Or of course you could always watch both which id recommend if you're going to watch the original, because the original only has one season whereas the new version has 2 so far."

It's more simplistic compared to the 2019 version, not as close to the manga as the newer version did but nonetheless a wonderful anime to start with in your binge of the beloved Fruits basket world. another 10/10"
