"So I’m playing Pizza Tower and it’s wears its influence of 90’s cartoons on its sleeve. The exaggerated close-ups, the off model animation, hilarious squash and stretch, the slapstick, the deranged expressions that could never happen in real life. I’m on the floor each time I see it. And then it makes me think back to Ren & Stimpy. Without this show cartoons in the US would still be glorified toy adverts. And everything I mentioned about Pizza Tower R&S had in spades. I miss this kind of personality that harkens back to the golden age of US animation."
