"It is a very slow book and build-up for the ending, where the book finally picks up pace and gets better."

"I’m giving this book in the series a bit of a lower score because it was much slower pace than the first two. I ended up having to restart it and felt like I didn’t get into it until the second half of the book. Once it picked up though - it was really good!! Everything to do with the Weaver and the Carver peaked my interest - though I have some words about what became of them and am in need of a stand alone, spin off book for those two characters. Come on Sarah Maas!! 😆 "

"4.5/5 ⭐️ this was really good! I just liked the other two more! Of the 3 in the series this far this one has the least romance and is very focused on war. I really like how SJM finishes each book with some clear conclusions and plot points neatly tied up. I just like my books with a little more romance and this book was long! I am excited to read the other books and learn more about other characters! 0.5-1/5 spice level. "

"Sarah J. Maas is just incredible. Even as a re-read, I was absolutely consumed by her writing, her characters, her art… "

"I really have mixed feelings about this book. I don’t think it needed to be 700 pages long. The ending was great (the last 200 pages) but it was soooo long getting into the action. I almost DNF and considered ACOTAR a stand alone "

"This was amazing! I loved every single second of it. Ariel is the new standard to which every man should meet. Actually, it's more like Azriel and Rhys and Cassian all combined into one. I just love them all so much. I just can not get over how good this series is."

"What a great sequel to the ACOTAR world. I really do think Sarah J Maas has a way with building tension. Makes it hard to put down. Lots of action in this book. Although a very different vibe from ACOMAF, I also gave this one 5⭐️. "

"A fun time with the characters you already like. But the pacing and newly introduced characters/storylines feel a little rushed and I would have appreciated more fleshed out arcs, similar to the author’s previous series."
