Tessa Bailey
AN INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES AND #1 USA TODAY BESTSELLER In the follow-up to It Happened One Summer, Tessa Bailey delivers another deliciously fun rom-com about a former player who accidentally falls for his best friend while trying to help her land a different man... King crab fisherman Fox Thornton has a reputation as a sexy, carefree flirt. Everyone knows he's a guaranteed good time--in bed and out--and that's exactly how he prefers it. Until he meets Hannah Bellinger. She's immune to his charm and looks, but she seems to enjoy his... personality? And wants to be friends? Bizarre. But he likes her too much to risk a fling, so platonic pals it is. Now, Hannah's in town for work, crashing in Fox's spare bedroom. She knows he's a notorious ladies' man, but they're definitely just friends. In fact, she's nursing a hopeless crush on a colleague and Fox is just the person to help with her lackluster love life. Armed with a few tips from Westport's resident Casanova, Hannah sets out to catch her coworker's eye... yet the more time she spends with Fox, the more she wants him instead. As the line between friendship and flirtation begins to blur, Hannah can't deny she loves everything about Fox, but she refuses to be another notch on his bedpost. Living with his best friend should have been easy. Except now she's walking around in a towel, sleeping right across the hall, and Fox is fantasizing about waking up next to her for the rest of his life and... and... man overboard! He's fallen for her, hook, line, and sinker. Helping her flirt with another guy is pure torture, but maybe if Fox can tackle his inner demons and show Hannah he's all in, she'll choose him instead?

"Dude, this book is just as good as the first and it is rare to be able to say that wholeheartedly! I knew from the moment Fox was introduced in “It Happened One Summer” that he and Hannah were going to be a thing, but I could have never imagined how precious their love story was going to be! Fox is such a multi-layered character, what with his forced into reputation and genuine distrust in himself. He’s very much like Piper in terms of having terrible self-worth and that made the dynamic between him and Hannah very interesting. I loved Hannah! I liked her in the first book, but I really identified with her and her love for music, movies and just the act of creating. Her struggles in taking charge of her life, both personally and professionally, were very inspiring to read about. While I couldn’t say which book between the two was better, I must say this book nailed the flirty banter between the two protagonists and maintained a steamy air of sexual tension in a way that the first just doesn’t. Soooo good!"
"Dual POV. I think I liked this one more than It Happened One Summer!! I liked how much communication there was between Fox and Hannah and the development of a friendship first. Also loved Fox and the little things he did for Hannah. Hannah’s character development and career change was fun as well. I also appreciated that Hannah knew what she wanted which made the 3rd act conflict tolerable and resolved seamlessly. There was good tension building in this book and Tessa Bailey always writes fantastic dirty talk! It wasn’t the spiciest read ever but the spice in this one was good! 2.5/5 🌶. This one is now up there with Unfortunately Yours! "
"Cute and heartwarming story about a tortured boy and reliable girl. There were a few times where I almost skimmed through the repetitive worries that Fox has, but thankfully there weren’t any “this problem could be solved with a little communication” moments. It’s slightly more than just a cupcake love story (sweet and satisfying) and I read it in less than 2 days. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"
"The s*xual tension was the perfect balance for me and I like the main characters. "

"Nice romance! My favorite book by Tessa Bailey. Although it does contain quite some spice, it's different from her other stories and doesn't actually make me cringe. Besides, I really liked the plot! It feels very fresh and makes it stand out of the crowd of other typical romances. Great characters, pretty good communication between main male and female leads. Overall, a simple but solid romance book."
