"Hmm 🤨 👿 … Yes, #complex & #interesting & excruciatingly #slow describe this one… It’s a uniquely #strange tale with lots of devious, dastardly, & dirty deeds, but good storytelling & full of very “interesting” (#twisted) characters 🤨 — The setting & soundtrack were different, too, with an “old-timey” & #backwoods feel, in a sleepy little town in 1957-1965 Appalachia 🕰️ — MANY familiar & popular actors with VERY #devilish roles in this #crime #drama ▪️⚠️ A bit #violent & slow & truly #filthy & #disturbing at times, but watchable (??? 🤷‍♀️) for the solid performances by the entire cast… #RobertPattinson #Whoa! 😳 "

"Someone said this movie was really long and I also remember being long. But it’s only 2 hour and 18. Thought it was 3 Remember it being very dark and depressing. Had somewhat similarities to pulp fiction with a bunch of different characters story lines. Tom and Patterson did amazing. I liked tom more mainly because I honestly didn’t think he could pull a serious role well but he surprised me. Can’t really go in too much detail about the movie because watched it 4 years ago when it came out. But I remember thoroughly enjoying it. I definitely would recommend if you like way more serious movies. Definitely wouldn’t if not. "

This movie follows several interesting characters, each with their own demons, as they eventually cross each other's paths. The plot was interesting to me and the film proposes some social commentary that I found intriguing, but not forced or "in the viewers face". A satisfying watch, but you'll probably want to chase this film with something a little lighter."
