"Spirited is very self-aware that it is another in an endless retelling of A Christmas Carol and that self-awareness is really what makes it work so well. There are consequences and complex ideas explored all while being cynically Christmasy with an abundance of musical numbers. Great chemistry between Ferrell & Reynolds. I was also pretty impressed with the cinematography and production. The camera, as well as the editing, is as energetic as the film with lots of movement. The lighting setups are a spectacle of colors and the musical performances look like a broadway show. Overall, it's a feel good film, which is never a bad thing, especially during the holiday season."
