Catherine Clare reluctantly trades life in 1980 Manhattan for a remote home in the tiny hamlet of Chosen, New York, after her husband George lands a job teaching art history at a small Hudson Valley college. Even as she does her best to transform the old dairy farm into a place where young daughter Franny will be happy, Catherine increasingly finds herself isolated and alone. She soon comes to sense a sinister darkness lurking both in the walls of the ramshackle property—and in her marriage to George.

"This movie did not deliver on the promises made in the trailer. It's not the chilling ghost story that I expected it to be. In fact, the ghosts are not menacing at all. Slow paced, unnecessarily long runtime, and goes in a different direction than expected. It was well acted but not enough to make up for its other short falls. 4.5/10"

"It had so much going for it and then that ending just fkd it all to hell. Didn't make much sense. Which ghosts were which? I just didn't care enough to go back to figure names out. The only reason it gets one star is because I have no choice. And I guess the acting was good. Just that ending took away everything else good about the story. I rarely say this about a movie but this was a complete waste of my time."
