House of the Dragon

"As a huge Game of Thrones fan, I am very happy to see the Dragons once more. It will take me awhile to not see Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor. So far it's a good show. I'm curious what the way forward will be though. "

"Having just recently rewatched the original GOT series, House of the Dragon pales in comparison. It lacks characters that we love to hate... So far. Characters like Joffrey, Cersei, Ramsey and others were so despicable in Game of Thrones that it was sooo good when they got their comeuppance. The trouble I'm having with this series is making a connection with most of the characters, whether liking them or not. There were also many subplots and storylines with the original that really kept the viewers engaged. The story so far in this series seems trivial and trite in comparison. But the dragons are badass enough to keep me coming back for the long haul. Hopefully it will get better. 8/10 Just finished watching season two... The season finale was sooo anticlimactic, it's infuriating. What a crappy way to end the season."

"They had an impossible task living up to GOT, but didn’t do themselves any favors by skimping on character development and failing on getting us emotionally involved. But it did get a little better as it went on. The FX is amazing with one exception. Look, we know it was dark without electricity. But you don’t have to make the show that dark visually. "

"I was pleasantly surprised by this. I had low expectations coming off the final season of Game of Thrones and all those would-be spin-offs that kept getting cancelled. However, this turned out really good. I had to watch breakdowns on YouTube after each episode as I have a hard time following along. Everyone is comparing this to The Rings of Power and really I enjoyed both. They are both true representations of their respective source material. Ya they’re both fantasy but that doesn’t mean they need to be carbon copies of one another and battle for peoples loyalty. It’s not Star Trek vs Star Wars. You’re allowed to like both. "
