"I am so glad I finally read this! Well worth the wait! I’m also so glad I went into this book mostly blind. It really added intrigue to the plot and the idea of the Shadow Fold. Loved Alina and the development of her power over time. Being a Sun Summoner sounds so badass. Really all the Grisha were cool. The world-building was very complex but once I understood it made the story so much more compelling. I knew going in (because of TikTok edits) that I shouldn’t trust the Darkling, but like Alina, I fell for him! I’m sorry!! But him and Alina’s chemistry was delectable. In comparison, her and Mal were kinda stale, which is a hard thing for me to admit as a Friends to Lovers lover. I will say though that I warmed up to her ending up with Mal at the end of the book. Their dynamic was different and it made the chemistry better so I could warm up to Malina by the end of the series. I can’t wait to watch the show now!"
"So I watched the show first and loved it. Now that I read the book, I love them both equally! They definitely added things in the show but this book was still good. I loved the descriptions of everything and everyone. The storyline was amazing and the character development was also great. Can't wait to read Siege and Storm!"
