"I’ve never seen this film before, but I had such a sense of nostalgia while watching it. The beautiful music. The gorgeous ballet numbers (why don’t modern musicals incorporate more ballet?). The vibrant technicolor (COLOR what a concept). The plot was pretty basic, but it was the first Broadway musical to actually move the plot through music so that’s to be expected. I will say 90% of the plot would not have happened if the characters had just used their brains. Felt very comforted watching this movie."
