Divergent

"REWATCH: They really tried to recreate the Hunger Games hype, but they missed the mark. The casting overall was good; I especially loved Kate Winslet, Zoe Kravitz, Ashley Judd and Miles Teller in their respective roles. I did not enjoy Shailene Woodley as Tris. She just didn’t possess the fire and fierceness that Tris had in the books. Theo James was fine as Four, but he and Shailene really lacked the chemistry needed to carry their love story. It was stale. It also wasn’t helped by the script skipping all of the scenes that built romantic tension between the two, making the romance just feel rushed. A lot of the story was rushed. I do have a soft spot for this film; it brings back a lot of nostalgia and most of it is fun to watch if at times cheesy. It’s a fine film, but in my opinion, it could have been done better."

"I have never read the book but I love the movie. The overall plot is excellent and so are the characters. Out of the three movies I like this one the best. I find the divergent world captivating and thought provoking. I will always rewatch this movie as it’s effortless to watch time and again."

"It could have been worse but also could have been better. Not sure about the book format but based on the movie execution it's pretty easy to tell this is catered toward teens. Acting and everything else aside, depending on how much you like dystopian stories will determine how much you like this movie."

"Sadly if you read the book the movie does not hold up. But if you didn't it's good. My brother didn't and loves the story. It is a good story, but when you read the book and see the adaptation not so much. I haven't even watched the other two due to my disappointment from the movie. One day I will though, maybe."
