"🌟6.5/10🌟 Lol, this Ingrid chick was cray-cray! 😜 … It was a tad slow-moving at times, & it’s not the best comedy out there, but it’s still #funny & worth a watch for all the great cast members.… **SPOILER ALERT** This was definitely a #satire or a #spoof on thriller movies like SINGLE WHITE FEMALE (SWF) where one chick’s obsessed & jealous of another girl’s seemingly glamorous life or hip, cool lifestyle — but this film’s NOT a “thriller” like SWF, instead it’s a #DarkComedy where one girl’s obsessed with another girl’s “INSTAGRAM LIFE” & it’s got a few #hilarious moments, lines & scenes 🎬 (I’m attaching my favorite scenes)."

"Ingrid Goes West is an interesting little movie about obsession and jealousy put that through the lenses of social media with this you got a huge mess with a slice of second hand embarrassment. I like how this talks about the dangers of being online to much and the dangers of para social relationships on social media and how we all need to to take everyone’s lives we see online with a gran of salt, being picture perfect for everyone else but them selfs. Be careful who you Idolize kids!"

"𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐆𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 is a 𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐲 done the right way. Usually I don’t enjoy these social media influenced films but 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 really put a dark realistic spin on this. Yet another film from the talented 𝐀𝐮𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐚 that’s been sitting on my watchlist over a year. She seems to be perfectly fitted to play this quirky obsessed role. The way she’s able to make you laugh and feel sorry for this character at the same time is amazing. I mean it’s obvious Ingrid is a mentally disturbed woman. But the sad part is regular woman like her exist in this world everyday. Most not as extreme but all seeking some form of affirmations from social media. Her being obsessed with a 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 star played by 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐡 𝐎𝐥𝐬𝐞𝐧 who might I add really blew past her older twin sisters by light years in the Hollywood department. She is also great in playing the superficial 𝐈𝐆 “𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫” we see everyday. 𝐎’𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐚 𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐨𝐧 (𝐈𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐛𝐞 son if y’all didn’t know) has great chemistry with 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐚 playing the role of a boyfriend she really didn’t deserve. Put all that together and you have a near perfect film that embodies the downside of social media and validation. Social media can be a great way to keep in touch with people and share information. However, it can also feed into excessive reassurance-seeking behaviors and unhealthy attempts at getting validation from others. In other words, people often use the opinions of others to feel good about themselves. This film doesn’t get entirely too dark but just enough to make its point and still have a great comedic filter.
