"It's not a Nutcracker movie in any sense. But it is still good. Predictable and some animation sequences needed some more work, but it is good. Morgan freeman as Drosselmeyer was genius too. The spin on the story was fine but it lost what the nutcracker originally held. However, I did still enjoy it. I just wish they wouldn't have used the Nutcracker name in it. It could've been a great movie just plain & simple. Instead they ruined people's expectations by using the nutcracker name, which in turn made the movie not perform as well as it could. So it made original nutcracker fans like me & plenty of others disappointed. I'm such a movie fan too that I still liked it though. The story itself is intriguing, and the acting is great. But it did let down a lot of people which makes me sad because it is a good movie. I just wish they wouldn't have used Nutcracker on the title. It is a creative spin on the classic tale, yet it is a big change. I recommend it as a good movie, but not as a nutcracker one. Its still plenty good tho and if you like nutcracker and go into it thinking its just easter egging the nutcracker tale you'll probably enjoy it more. Plus the acting is just amazing. "

"A few years back I watched the beginning of this movie and lost interest fast. But now that I know and love The Nutcracker story. I rewatched it (all the way through). It was very good! Loved the costumes. Might become a yearly Christmas movie to watch :) 8/10"

"Love the story of the Nutcracker. I was raised with it. The story was enhanced by the vivid and lovely imagery in beginning and conclusion of the movie. the idea that the Sugarplum Princess was the antagonist disappointed me. The acting of Keira Knightly was extremely annoying; she didn't need to have a high-pitched voice, and she pushed too hard with it, which harmed Mackenzie Foys' performance beside her. They could have done something cool with her as the hero or, Hell, the queen of that realm. But that’s just my opinion. "
