A few years later, accused of having committed a robbery, Martin suddenly disappears. When, almost a decade later, a man arrives in Artigat claiming to be Martin, the Guerre family recognizes him as such; but doubts soon arise about his true identity.

"This is such a good movie. Gerard Depardieu plays the role of a French soldier who leaves his village for nine years, then returns. The viewer has to decide if he has returned a better man, or maybe a different man? 🧐 The plot reminds me of the American movie Sommersby starring Richard Gere. There are very good performances from all actors. French audio."
