"Although this movie shares the same name as the original, it is not a true sequel. The plot involves a blended family and friends getting together to go on a trip, but deciding to go diving in an underwater cave instead. John Corbett and Nia Long star, but the story follows the girls who meet terror in the form of man-eating sharks in the underwater caves. I have to admit that although the movie was just fair, the scenes with the sharks were pretty good. The underwater photography was good for this genre of movie. But at times, it was hard to see what was truly going on in the water during all of the extreme close up scenes."
"It offers some decent underwater thrills and suspense, it ultimately falls short of the original film's intensity.
The movie's premise of a group of divers trapped in an underwater cave system with deadly sharks is inherently terrifying, and it succeeds in creating moments of tension and claustrophobia. The underwater cinematography captures the beauty and danger of the underwater world effectively.
The plot, while straightforward, lacks the depth and originality needed to make it stand out in a crowded genre.
Compared to its predecessor, the film also lacks the same level of suspense and scares. The shark encounters, while thrilling at times, don't reach the same heart-pounding heights as the original.
It is a watchable shark thriller that offers some underwater excitement but fails to recapture the intensity of the first film. It's a decent choice for fans of the genre, but it doesn't quite rise above mediocrity."
"FYI this isn’t a sequel to 47 Meters Down. Just another shark movie probably made by the same folks. But it was an entertaining one that kept me nervous the whole time & I enjoyed it. Complaints- CGI wasn’t great, a lot of it was hard to see (realistic I guess but not great for movie watchers), and so many of the underwater POVs looked like a video game. Still a fun watch though! 3.5 🌟"
