"This movie is perfect in capturing the beauty and the cruelty and the classicism of the Victorian era with a heroine who, unlike the usual casting is the plain girl that the book describes."

"The first version of Jane Eyre that I saw ever so it has a soft spot in my heart. I like it a lot but perhaps it's not the favorite version. The actors are very good in their roles. I fear that Fiona Shaw was typecast as Petunia Dursley in Harry Potter after doing this movie."

"I've actually never read Jane Eyre, so I can't say whether the movie was true to the book or not. But the acting was excellent, the characters were relatable, the plot and its mystery kept me engaged, and the scenery was great. I'm not sure I agreed with the ending, but it was typical for this type of drama"

"I love Jane Eyre, but this movie really did all the characters dirty imo. And I'm not sure plotwise if it's better or worse if you've read the book. It compresses and contorts the plot in a strange way. Sorry, but this movie ain't it. "

"This was slow. I found it difficult to connect to characters. "
