I believe no matter what they did this was going to get mixed reviews regardless. Wiping out all the storytelling from the other installments was never a good idea anyway. I disliked all the characters except obviously Jaime and the dad of Corey because he deserved better. I disliked Alison very much like if someone I knew escaped every time from a psycho killer how could you not believe them about something they know so much about!"

Laughed at how predictable and awful it was until finally Laurie calls 911 and then the darn movie starts. AND THE SCORE??? seeing mother Laurie for the last time made me very emotional. my forever final girl 🎃🖤 and can help corey cunningham in a room in which there are no others.😏"

tyler_2005 shared a tip "🌟3.5/5🌟 okay so this movie was definitely decent, but I just wasn’t a fan of the first hour of the film. Like the build up was so long. Most of this movie kinda felt like a romance film, instead of a horror like it was supposed to be. I think I liked the whole possession aspect to this movie, but idk it kinda took away from Micheal Myers whole monster streak. The ending just felt a little rushed, but I did enjoy it. Lorie was a phenomenal actor in this film 10/10 performance. I’m not too sure what they could have done differently, but I feel like they killed of so many important characters to the point where you already expect anyone new in this film to be killed and won’t really care about them. I think there was too much hype around this that it kinda fell flat for me. Also, there wasn’t much horror to this movie like there were two decent jump scares, but everything else was very predictable. They kinda made Micheal seem weak in this film, but I guess maybe his age and tolerance is catching up to him. I still really love the whole Halloween franchise though!"

Much better than I expected, but there's not as much horror as i think people expect. I didn't even know this was coming out, so I didn't have the high expectation other people seem to have. Like many movies, I think you should go in with low expectations. I didn't fully understand everything but i've only watched this and the original, so that's probably why"

eternal shared a tip "An excellent end to the franchise. Many don’t see this, but this new trilogy is just a mirror of the original one. If this was more clear, then maybe the film would’ve had a better reception from the public. I mean, it’s apparent from the title cards, the fact that the first two installments of both trilogies take place in one night and how Michael Myers has very little (or none at all) screen time in the third. It wasn’t peak Halloween, but it had good gore and for me at least, didn’t disappoint."

I see what the directors were doing, which was interesting, but it took up too much of the movie and made Michael Myers essentially a side character in his own movie, making the final showdown seem very rushed. BUT THE ENDING!? ABSOLUTELY! What a conclusion!"

But in a way though it’s also sad because if you have seen it you know. If not you will soon find out if you watch it, but I’m just overwhelmed when it came to this conclusion because it could have been done so much more differently. Halloween just won’t be the same anymore. Just my opinion. I grew up being scared every Halloween thinking is Michael out here somewhere?! Haha In Halloween Kills, Jamie Lee Curtis was a badass, but suddenly in Halloween Ends, Jamie Lee wasn’t as badass, she was more feminine, wearing skirts and you just didn’t see the same attitude towards Michael. Also, Michael was portrayed as being WEAK, I guess from the fire, but come on, Michael Myers is NEVER WEAK!🤣 I really hope Michael Myers comes BACK! 🥲❤️"

They seemed to try a new twist when it comes to reviving Michael that by the end I almost felt like I wasn't even watching a Halloween movie. It's not overly bad. I was just hoping for this one last explosion of a stand off and what I watched felt very anticlimactic. Ugh."

From beginning, to end, I had to fight the urges to leave the theater it was THAT bad. It’s not quite the follow up to Halloween Kills I expected or wanted. It has an engaging central character and storyline, though, and ultimately some good Michael M. content."

One minute she is Lori's loving granddaughter, the next minute she is attacking her for not approving her 5 minutes old relationship... there was some good nostalgia, but it was a crappy story."
