"This is probably the first "adult" film I watched as a kid. In our household, it was a tradition to watch MASH on New Year's Day (started by my parents in 1971 [there's an entire backstory which I won't go into detail here]) and it's a tradition that I still uphold to this day.
It's not a great film, but it is. You're either going to never get it all the way through or fall in love despite yourself. It's fun, and it's not. It's joyful in its cynicism and it's melancholy in its humor. Donald Sutherland's whistle and mischievous smile, Elliot Gould's arch-tongued cruelty and cunning glint in his eyes; you fall for Hawkeye and Trapper even though they're awful. It's a mean old film and it's lovely too. I don’t think there’s another film quite like it. Pitch perfect Altman from start to finish. Essential viewing."

"I grew up with this show. It's not perfect and it does make allowances for warmongering. Still, it has moments that made great statements at the time, to a tone deaf America. I can still get a kick out of some episodes. "

"An amazing (yet definitely dated) film. If your a fan of the show, you’ll love the movie but be warned. While the show can be very dark at times, the movie feels even more grim. Maybe this is due to the movies humor being much more sardonic than the sillier antics of the show. As I said before, it is also incredibly dated and at times offensive with its rhetoric around homosexuals and East Asians and treatment of women so keep that in mind. "
