"⭐️2/5⭐️ "We Need to Talk About Kevin" (2011) was honestly excruciating to watch, and not in a good way. It felt emotionally draining, almost punishing, as it dragged you through this relentless, suffocating sense of dread. I get that it's supposed to explore the nature of guilt, trauma, and evil, but it was so heavy-handed and bleak that it left no room to breathe. The performances were great, especially Tilda Swinton’s, but the film’s oppressive tone made it difficult to engage with on any deeper level. I couldn’t wait for it to be over. "
"Loved it and didn't find it scary or disturbing as so many ppl seem to. It wasn't intended as horror. If you want 'shocking evil kid' in the style of The Good Son, The Orphan, or Case 39... this is not it. It's not about Kevin or what he did. It's nothing if not the struggle of Kevin's mother in dealing with it all after the fact. The anger from the community, her own crushing guilt, PTSD, while still being his mother. #greatacting #greatdirecting "
