"It’s been many years since I’ve seen the original FLETCH movie, but I think I prefer the “OG Fletch” played by Chevy Chase — His undercover reporter character was a quick-witted, droll & smug smart-ass with silly facial expressions, hilarious undercover names & funny undercover costumes, & he had some quotable one-liners. — The running gag of him pretending to be various people allowed him to act like a bumbling, idiotic goofball while still being the smart, arrogant guy who was playing everyone in the room in order to get the info he was after. — John Hamm’s still good-looking tho, so I ain’t gonna complain! 😜"
"⭐️⭐️ This one didn’t do it for me. Not a fan of Jon Hamm but went in with an open mind anyway. Unfortunately he didn’t deliver for me except for being smarmy and unfunny. The casting was odd, with the exception of the detectives maybe, the story convoluted and just dumb and uninteresting. It does make me want to check out the Chevy Chase films again as I remember his take had some authentic goofy humor and charm. "
"As a huge fan of the original, I had to see this one. I didn’t think it would be nearly as good and it definitely wasn’t, but it was a relatively enjoyable movie. Hamm was good as always but the story was a bit muddled. Overall, it was worth seeing if you liked the original, but no need to race to the theater"
"i had fun with this one! it’s totally my mom’s kind of movie so it was fun to watch w her loving every second. unexpectedly great jokes. i got a little lost in the plot but that’s probably my fault. the characters kept me going. jon hamm was great & gave frank abagnale jr energy!! a decent watch for an older and younger crowd.
