"Legendary Bill Nighy plays a stereotypical stodgy, buttoned up Englishman in 1949 who learns he doesn’t have long to live and he wants to take what short time he has left to do some good. Terrific cast, including the wonderful Aimee Lou Wood, who was fantastic in Sex Education. Plus a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack. Some might say this moves at a glacial pace, but it’s simply a movie made like those of yore, even made with the old timey aspect ratio. It touched me, which are what movies are meant to do. "
"Such a wonderful film. Old-fashioned yet wonderfully well made, and not to mention a beautiful reminder of living your life to the fullest. Bill Nighy gives a heartfelt performance here, accompanied by a fantastic screenplay by Kazuo Ishiguro (the Oscar nominations were well deserved for both of them). Do not miss this."
