"This is a simple yet eerie and almost too serene thriller with a perfect amount of suspense. John Carpenter directs the very slow burning story of people in a small town held captive by a 100 year old secret. The movie stars Adrienne Barbeau, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Janet Leigh. I was captivated by the use of light and shadow to create a sense of terror and fear. I always like movies that use the emotions of people to drive each scene instead of blood and gore. "

"John carpenter strikes again with another impressive ghostly story and movie score. Not as good as Halloween but it still hangs in there for a Halloween scare."

"It was a little slow, but I enjoyed it. I would love to see it remade again. "

"This is the first John Carpenter movie I’ve been disappointed by. It’s a ghost story without scares or atmosphere. The characters are bland and uninteresting, so I didn’t care what happened to them. It does have a good Carpenter score, I just wish it had accompanied a better movie. 2.5 out of 5 stars."

"The first horror movie I remember seeing as a child. It scared me, so it has stuck with me all these years. I still get really creeped out when I watch it. It has stuck with me, making me look at fog differently to this day."

"It’s very dated compared to the remake, but who doesn’t like a young Jamie Lee Curtis! 😄 If you enjoy the oldies then this is a good one. 👍🏻"

"The whole movie is good but I'd have to say the first seen of the fog men. It really let you know what's coming for the rest of the movie "
