"An experience best left un-foretold. Go in with open mind and heart. "

"This is not your typical horror, there's not many thrills or any gore throughout, but you're just left so uncomfortable, the sense of hopelessness is almost unbearable. The slow build-up, its structure, and its realistic approach is brilliant and so damn effective, making the impact bigger, I almost forgot I was watching a horror film. And then... damn. The Vanishing is a special and simple yet very haunting and depressing film that's best watched without any prior knowledge of it."

"Well done thriller (I wouldn't call it a horror movie). This story draws you in and keeps you engaged and interested in the resolve without a dramatic chase scene every eight minutes. The twists and flashbacks are superb, the conjoined character-studies brilliantly executed and the ending only seems right.
Definitely worth a watch."

"Loved it. This is the original Dutch edition and unlike North American movies, we don’t always need happy endings. This movie made me sleep fitfully for two weeks after watching it. "

"I think this version is WAY better than the US version with Jeff Bridges & Kiefer Sutherland. The ending is so much more realistic IMO. "

"A Hitchcock esque thriller. Flawless film that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Masterfully makes you empathetic with the main character's question, "why"?"

"I really can't say enough about this movie. It is such an incredible experience. Such a slow burn, and ominous as hell. I see so much influence in this work on the likes of Tarantino (Though obviously it is entirely its own project.)"
